Because now I understand why people held hands: I always thought it was all about possessiveness, showing all the people and the whole world that the person you hold is yours, saying “This is mine.” But it wasn’t about that. I remember the tingly magical feeling I felt when I used to hold hands with someone special… and now I realize that holding hands is about maintaining contact. It was about speaking without words. It was about “I want you with me” and “Don’t go”. <3
